Good Evening and welcome to another weekly blog.
Well the weather here tonight is about 41F with Moderate Rain, just to the north of here they have Freezing Rain and then to northern part of the state they are getting 4-7in of snow, should be nice to see however with not much snow removal equipment could leave a mess in its wake in the morning….
Severe Weather: Looks to be quite again this week nothing major….
Winter Weather: Well lets finish up with the snow in Southeast this evening wreakin havic, after this moves out look for it to head up the East Coast however beacause of the speed of the system look for mostly light amounts along the coast until it gets up around Boston then maybee amounts will start approaching 5-7. However for our Baltimore residents it looks like you will be saved again this time with just a light dusting.
I like to talk about something I noticed in this storm and how the models didnt do very well. My thought behind it has to be the fact that our models are computer scripts and they are set at certain numbers for example 1013.25mb is considered standard pressure, so for a value lower than that we would refer to it as low pressure and vice versa, however what has happened with this storm is the fact we have such a strong High pressure entering the region and the Low pressure along the coast is deep at 1014mb however the models dont consider this a strong system because of the pressure, but when you look upstream and you see a 1040mb+ pressure heading south then all the sudden this 1014mb low is very intense but the models dont see this. Just my though on why the models went all over the place for this storm????
Back to winter weather I am looking for another potent system to enter the NWest US this week and wreak havoic throughout the US probably another Gulf Low comming!!!!
Also A very potent High pressure is entering the US this week bringing the coldest air of the winter season so far this year for all of the Eastern US. Enjoy!!!!!
Weathergeek Station Weather: For the remainder of this evening light rain/sleet then clearning out and dropping the temps, followed by a very chilli week ahead.. Another storm moving in next weekend again!!!!!
