Weathergeek.net Weekly Post #118 June 26, 2011

Good Evening and welcome to another post...
Another week in the books and it is still hot!!!!
Drought did get some small help this past week with just around 2inches of rain.
However the drought continues...

SEVERE WEATHER:  This week looks to provide some Severe Weather in the mid section. along with a small possibility here along the coast towards Thursday/Friday. Looks like the Tornadoes will be confined to the mid section and along the coast we will see the gusty winds possible.

WINTER WEATHER:  N/A

TROPICAL WEATHER: Well it looks like the system is going to emerge into the Southern Gulf over the next 48hrs however not making any large impact to the US and more likely to hit Southern Mexico along the resort cities. So be advised that it can change tracks at any time however I feel pretty comfortable that it wont be a US Impact.

Well this past week was a very interesting week, we had sleet and Thunderstorms all in the same 24hr window. It was crazy. Our temps stayed right around 35-36F with Thunderstorms…. We had 5min of sleet to go with it. Well this week looks to be a little bit better still bringing in some cold rain twice this week.
Severe Weather:  Looks to be quite this week….
Winter Weather: Well for the Oklahoma/Texas and Arkansas and North Mississippi looks to be a winter wonderland this week and possibly the Mid Atlantic may get a nice 2-4inches this week and the Northeast around another 6inches probably for the week.
Weathergeek Station:  Monday Rain/ Tuesday PC/ Wed Rain/ Thu-Mon Partly Cloudy, Temps will be in the upper 50′s all week and overnight lows will be in the lower 30′s, looks like this may be the last push of winter for the South and spring may start setting up after this round.

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #98

Good Evening and welcome to another blog post….
Well the weather is starting to wake up this week watch out!!!! Tonight we still have some moderate rain showers in the area should clear out by Monday afternoon. Tonight Lows will be near 50.
Severe Weather:  Looks to be very active this week with a major storm heading into the Gulf Coast Region Tuesday look for a high potential of severe weather from Tornadoes to Hail and strong winds its comming!!!!!!
Winter Weather:  Please check out http://www.weathergeek.net/ADVISORY6.gif this will take you to my winter weather maps for the next two major storms heading into the area this week. Winter weather is going to be hard hitting this week with a major snowstorm to spread from Oklahoma-Texas and then all the way northeast along that route heading up into Boston and NYC…. Enjoy there should be many places with 8-10inches of snow and some even more.. Then there will also be a Mix Line that sets up and this is going to be dangerous with high amounts of precip to fall as ice and this extends up into the Baltimore and DC area…. That is storm #1  now on to the High pressure that is following behind looks like pressure should hit 1050+ in some areas in the Northern Plains and with all the new snow pack that will fall expect this High to remain strong until it hits the Southeast before it modifies to much… That leads us into the 2nd Winter Storm, with all the cold air expected to be in place, It looks like the Gulf Coast is going to have its chance at some snow… Even here at Weathergeek Station I think we can see up to 2inches….. Also we will turn over to some very cold rain.. This storm will batter the East Coast and add to insult with amounts pushing 1ft in many places. Enjoy the Snow!!!!!!
Weathergeek Station:  Tuesday (Severe Weather) and highs pushing close to 70.  Thursday-Friday (Winter Weather) Snowfall of 1-3 inches very possible at the station….
OUR STORE:  Don’t forget to stop by and check our store out we have just did some changes to the page check it out!!!!

Good Monday Morning !!!!
Well what can I say Weather Fest was a great success here in Seattle, I would like to say thanks to everyone who came out and visited our booth, We enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting with all….
Now to the weather was a typical winters week along the Gulf Coast and we are going to be starting this week off with somme heavy rain and isolated T-storms.
Severe Weather:  Quite this week!!!!!
Winter Weather: Well lets see what would it be without talking about the East Coast and their weekly encounter with the snow and rain and ice, so here we go you can also see my latest forecasted graphic for the storm this week.
http://www.weathergeek.net/ADVISORY5.gif
Pretty much looks like a fairly light dusting all up the seaboard with some ice and rain mixing in near the Baltimore/DC area and all snow up in Boston Enjoy!!!!! Outside of that just some small clipper systems to move through the Northern Plains with another light dusting… Now the outlook has a pretty strong system developing for next week with a strong and deep Gulf Low forming this is probably going to find snow and ice all the way down in the deep south again with this system….
Weathergeeek Station:  Heavy Rain/T-storms for Monday into Tuesday then another push of Cold air by midweek followed by the “Big Feb Storm” Temps will mostly be in the upper 50′s this week..

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #96

Good Evening and welcome to another post.
Well this past week was pretty quite here at the station, we currently have Mostly Cloudy skies and Temps near 50F. Looking for some rain showers to move through Monday….
Severe Weather: Looks to be another quite week in the Severe Weather  Front….
Winter Weather: Well what would it be like without talking about the Northeast So lets start and talk about this next storm system that is moving up the East Coast this week. Looks like Rain from the Carolina’s up to Maryland however do expect it to mix in with sleet/snow and maybe final accumulations in Baltimore of up to 3inches of snow. However the bigger concern is going to be in the same places  that have been hit time after time well looks like another shot coming with this one… Out west it looks to be no let down with another system moving ashore this week, I really am looking at this pattern to continue for about 2-5weeks then maybe a slight change. However until then the people in the Northwest US through the Northern Plains into the Southeast and up into the Northeast US be ready for the active weather to continue until then….
Weathergeek Station:  Looks to be rain on Monday followed by another shot of rain on Thursday and then a strong area of High pressur will move in for the weekend cooling the weather down again…
OUR STORE: Dont forget to stop by and check out the store for all of our products!!

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #95 (Jan 10, 2011)

Good Evening and welcome to another weekly blog.
Well the weather here tonight is about 41F with Moderate Rain, just to the north of here they have Freezing Rain and then to northern part of the state they are getting 4-7in of snow, should be nice to see however with not much snow removal equipment could leave a mess in its wake in the morning….
Severe Weather: Looks to be quite again this week nothing major….
Winter Weather: Well lets finish up with the snow in Southeast this evening wreakin havic, after this moves out look for it to head up the East Coast however beacause of the speed of the system look for mostly light amounts along the coast until it gets up around Boston then maybee amounts will start approaching 5-7. However for our Baltimore residents it looks like you will be saved again this time with just a light dusting.
I like to talk about something I noticed in this storm and how the models didnt do very well. My thought behind it has to be the fact that our models are computer scripts and they are set at certain numbers for example 1013.25mb is considered standard pressure, so for a value lower than that we would refer to it as low pressure and vice versa, however what has happened with this storm is the fact we have such a strong High pressure entering the region and the Low pressure along the coast is deep at 1014mb however the models dont consider this a strong system because of the pressure, but when you look upstream and you see a 1040mb+ pressure heading south then all the sudden this 1014mb low is very intense but the models dont see this. Just my though  on why the models went all over the place for this storm????
Back to winter weather I am looking for another potent system to enter the NWest US this week and wreak havoic throughout the US probably another Gulf Low comming!!!!
Also A very potent High pressure is entering the US this week bringing the coldest air of the winter season so far this year for all of the Eastern US. Enjoy!!!!!
Weathergeek Station Weather: For the remainder of this evening light rain/sleet then clearning out and dropping the temps, followed by a very chilli week ahead.. Another storm moving in next weekend again!!!!!
OUR STORE: Dont forget to stop by and pay a visit we are now also going to open up the chance for anyone to advertise there business inside our store link if interested please contact me at joshua98k@yahoo.com for more details. Store site is: http://weathergeek.net/WeatherSales.html

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #94 (Jan 3, 2011)

Good Evening and Welcome to our first blog of 2011!!!!!
Weather this past week was a great time plenty of things happening from blizzards up north to Twisters down south here, a little of everything to make the New Years Ring Loud!!!!
Severe Weather:  Looks to be quite this week no major issues forseen….
Winter Weather:  Small little clipper going through the north this week and a possible Low forming off and riding up the East Coast however nothing as powerfull as the last one a light dusting for most major cites up north. The major thing for this week is going to be the Arctic Chill that is going through wow some temps up north will sturggle to make it above 0 during the day…
Weathergeek Station Weather: Start the week with High pressure followed by a weak boundary going thorough towards mid week which will bring about .75in  for Rainfall to the station. Then another thing bothering me is this weekend I see something in the form as Light Cold Rain on Sunday maybee??? Temps will be cooler this week than they where last. Highs will be mostly 50′s and lower 60′s this week.
OUR STORE:  Dont forget to stop by and pay a visit…http://weathergeek.net/WeatherSales.html

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #93 (Dec 27, 2010)

Good Evening and Welcome to another Blog
Well I hope Santa was nice to everyone this year now its time to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Now to the weather.
This week brought some interesting weather to say the least. About 200 miles North of the station they got between 1-4inches of snow and here at the station we got just around .55inches of rain. So it was a wet Christmas Day here… But now this week brings what I like to call the rollercoaster of weather.
Severe Weather:  I see a really Moderate chance at the station on Saturday as there is potent storm system that is going to develop in the Rockies by midweek and move eastward.
Winter Weather:  Again where to start, I guess on the East Coast my wishes to you as you are getting the WAM this weekend with some potent snowfall and winds, It looks pretty solid that there are going to be some spots in and around Boston and Maine that will be measuring snow by the foot. Well all my friends in Baltimore I guess  I am going to be pretty close with my 2-4in prediction as the storm is just far enough east of you to miss the heaviest snow. Now moving on to the next winter storm that will develop in the Rockies this week I am thinking that the heaviest snow will head through the Dakotas and Yes Minnesota again!!!!! At this time I think the snowfall amounts will be between 5-10inches along the I-29 interstate in South Dakota and about 4-8 in Minesota have to wait and see….
Weathergeeks Station Weather:   Tonight Lows will be in the lower 20′s and windchills approaching the teens.. Followed my another cold night on Monday with lows back into upper 20′s… Then comes this mid week heat wave Temps will rebound back into the lower 70′s by Thursday and Friday and some T-storms cant wait….
OUR STORE:  Remember to check out our store as we continue to grow with new original products. Have added yet another game to the games section (Weatherology) check it out and all other stuff in the store.http://weathergeek.net/WeatherSales.html

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #92 (Dec 20, 2010)

Happy Holidays!!!!
Welcome to another blog post…
Well pretty quite week here at the station nothing major happend.  This next week is the big travel week and it looks like there will be some weather to go with it.
Severe Weather: I am thinking Friday Evening there may be a slight chance around the Gulf of Mexico.. with the next front that will approach the area.
Winter Weather: Wow where to start this week looks like its going to be really active starting with the first system that is entering the Dakotas tonight and through Monday snowfall amounts may be around 5-8inches… Monday Night Football will be played on a Ice Skating Ring with a nice dosing of snow should be fun to watch… Then Friday brings in the next powerhouse system at the latest look I see the potential for the Dakotas to get between 4-8 inches and then the system moves into Indiana and gives them between 6-8inches and then it will advance its way into the Virgina/Carolinas by Xmas Day bringing heavy snow to the Carolina’s I think between 5-10 inches and then up in Virgina about 4-8inches and then for my BALTIMORE FOLLOWERS expect to see 2-5inches of snow from this system.
Weathergeek Weather Station: Start the week off quite and warm with Temps reaching the 70′s by Tuesday/Wed and then Friday will usher in the T-storms and cooler weather for the weekend to enjoy Xmas feeling cool at least.

THE WEATHERGEEK

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog #89 (Dec 6, 2010)

Good Evening,
Another week in the books. Well this week looks like it will have a taste of winter for the majority of the country.
Winter Weather:  Look for a heavy snows around the Lakes also up in Maine this week for heavy snow. We do have two more systems that will enter the PNW this week and go around the strong ridge that is in the Rockies forcing the snow to go into the Dakotas and drop southeast as clippers. I do see something brewing up in the Long Range at this time think it will stay off the East Coast far enough just to give a light dusting to the east coast around  Dec 12-14.  With this strong high over the Rockies right now dont expect any changes to the pattern until this High weakens. So the Southern part of the US will remain fairly dry and temps will really roller coaster for the week.
Severe Weather: No major threats this week.
Weather Headlines:  Possible Nor Easter around Dec 12-14 but  the majority of the precip should remain off the coast.
Weathergeek Station:  This week is going to bring in the coldest air of the year followed by a weeks end warm up and also the possiblityof thunderstorms on Friday. Temps will be in the 50-60s for Highs and the lows will be cold on Monday and Tuesday with night temps around the mid to upper 20′s….
OUR STORE:  Last night our new Cluster Tree Ornament hit the store and is ready for purchase. http://weathergeek.net/WeatherSales.html

Weathergeek.net Weekly Blog#88 (Nov 29, 2010)

Good Evening,
Another week in the books not bad. However we have some issues ahead in the weather….
Winter Weather: Wow we have a potent system to wreak havic in the Northern Plains with snowfall amounts ranging from 3-13inches throughout the region. Also wil have Pre Frontal T-storms leading to Freezing Precip finalizing with snowfall for this area.  Another potent system will be entering the system by mid week into the Rockies…. WINTER IS HERE…..
Severe Weather: Looks like Weathergeek Station will be in the firing range for this event, I am anticipating most of Eastern Texas all the way into Alabama and north into TN the chance for Severe Weather with Straight Line winds and also Tornadoes where the rotation sets up looks to be along the MS/LA borders. Also looking for a significant squall line to form ahead of the Cold Front…. Looks to be fun Remember you can follow all of our storm reports from the station on our

Good Midweek to all,
I am posting this blog tonight, just to share with you some info on the Atlantic Ocean and the Tropics.
Wow are they kicking it seems like everyday a new wave is pushing off the African Coast and is gaining strength.
Currently Earl is wobbling up the East Coast and packing a pretty good punch along its path, Next we have Fiona which is heading right up to Bermuda as a Tropical Storm, then we have Gaston which is currently struggling for life, however the extended forecast are supporting the rebirth of this storm and sending this storm towards the Gulf of Mexico have to wait and see, also now it looks as if we have a great potential to see two more storms form this week have to wait and see.
If you are along the East Coast submit your storm reports so that we may post them on our Sunday Blog….
