Weathergeek Weekly Blog #121 July 17, 2011

Good Evening and Welcome to another Blog..This past week here at the station we got just about 4inches of rain.
This is the most we have gotten since back early spring. Very nice
time for the rain help with the drought, however we still are a few inches behind.

SEVERE WEATHER: Looks like it will stay in the North, near the Canada border this week. There may be some damaging winds along the Gulf Coast in the Afternoon T-storms but overall not much this week.

WINTER WEATHER: N/A

TROPICAL WEATHER: It has happened Tropical Depression 2 has formed in the Atlantic just off the coast of Eastern Florida. Early Indications is that it will make it to Tropical Storm strength and then head out towards the open Atlantic, causing no problems for the US. Outside of that another system looks like it should form in the Eastern Pacific by early this week and make its way up the Baja. Lastly the Major Typhoon that is landing in Japan at this time, it looks like the worst is going to be around the Southern part of mainland and then return out just south of Tokyo.

WEATHERGEEK STATION: This past week we did get a nice rainfall. Now this week the High from the North is going to rebuild into the area, bringing the T-storms to more of a Isolated nature and also bringing in the Heat again, Temps are going back up into the upper 90's this week.....

OUR STORE: We have just changed publishing companies for our books and you can now get "THE CLOUDS STORY" online at our book store.

Weathergeek Weekly Weather Blog #120 (July 10, 2011)

Good Evening,
Welcome to another blog post.

Weather this past week has been very dry and hot and will continue to be hot, however a little cloud over my head said it may rain this week. (Yeah!!!!).

The drought continues as we are well below normal on precip, grass down along the coast may just as well be straw for the horses.

SEVERE WEATHER: Looks like the Northern Plains are getting hit this evening and have another chance mid week to see more.. Also just got off the phone with family in the South Dakota area and they have enough water laying around on the ground to make a ocean.

WINTER WEATHER: N/A

TROPICAL WEATHER: All looks quite in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico for the week but there are becoming more waves in the Atlantic, have to just keep watching them over the next few days. My thoughts for this week are no storms....

WEATHERGEEK STATION: This past week we seen Temps reach the 101-105F range all week and no rain on the week. This next week I see the chance of getting close to 2.00in maybee on Tue/Wed of this week... Temps will remain in the upper 90's to low 100's all week.
